Where is the Resort located? How far from San Juan?

The Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort is located in the east side of Puerto Rico, in the town of Rio Grande. The Resort is 19 miles from the San Juan Airport, approximately 30-45 minutes car drive.

Where are the villas located?

The Villas are located inside the premises of the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort. There are villas in two different locations, beachfront (the "Ocean Villas") and around the resort’s golf courses (the "Golf Villas").

How far are the villas from the beach? How far from main hotel building?

The Ocean Villas are located 30 feet away from the beach and about 50 feet from the hotel main building.

The Golf Villas are located half a mile from the beach and the hotel main building.

How will I know the condition of the villa that I’m renting and whether I will like its furniture and decoration?

We only rent the most luxurious and the newest villas available at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort. We are constantly turning down villas that are offer to us for rent because they do not meet our very strict quality standards. Also, we personally and frequently inspect all of our villas to confirm that they are given the best maintenance, and that their furniture and equipment are all in mint condition and in excellent working order. In addition, we always provide pictures of all the villas we have available for rent, so you know exactly what you are renting and the furniture the villa has. Major distinction on the villas is as follows:

The Ocean Villas are all identically furnished; the same developers and interior decorators of the Westin Resort constructed these and fully furnished and equipped them.

The Golf Villas are larger in size and have been individually decorated and equipped.

Should I bring towels and linens?

All the villas will have plenty of fresh towels and linens for your use.

Are all the villas A/C and have Cable TV? 

Yes.

Do the villas have cooking appliances? 

Yes, their kitchens are fully equipped with all the comforts of a regular home.

Do the villas have toiletries? 

The villas are provided on a self-catering basis. We provide a complimentary starter pack of toiletries, including soap, toilet paper, trash bags, etc. Once these items are used, it is the guests responsibility to replenish them. You may elect to order groceries and supplies in advance at the charges set out. If you request maid service, the maids will replenish the  toiletries at each service.

Does the villas have telephones?  

 Most of the villas have their own telephone available for local calls.  Long distance calls are restricted and can only be made by using a calling card or asking the operator to charge your call to a credit card. On those villas that there is no telephone you will be provided a mobile phone with complimentary minutes of talk time. Additional minutes may be purchased at the Resort shops.

Is maid service included?

There are two maid services included in each stay, one is prior to your arrival, and the other is made after your departure. If you wish additional maid service during your stay the cost is as follows:

1-bedroom villa $50 per day or $210 per week

2-bedroom villa $60 per day or $270 per week

3-bedroom villa please inquire

Laundry?

Many villas have their own washer and dryer and others are located next to laundry facilities. Also, maid service is available for an extra fee.

Transportation to/from the airport?

We can arrange to have a chauffeur pick you up at the airport and take you to the villa. The chauffeur will provide you the villa keys and take you directly to the villa. The cost for a large van is $75 for up to 4 persons each additional person in the van is charged $15 extra. This is the same rate as a taxi. We can also arrange for a Lincoln Town Car to pick you up at a cost of $90.00. You can ask the chauffeur to make a stop at a grocery store on your way to the villa. 

Should I rent a car?

Renting a car allows you independence to explore the island, go to the nearby local restaurants and make as many trips to the grocery stores and mall as you wish. You can either rent a car at the many agencies available at the airport, or you can rent a car at the Avis Office at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort. We recommend golf villa guests to rent a car.

Is there complimentary parking for villa guests? 

Yes, each villa has its own reserved parking free of charge. The 1 bedroom villas have 1 reserved parking; 2 and 3 bedroom villas have 2 reserved parking.

Do I have a restaurant nearby?

The Resort has 11 restaurants for your enjoyment. The Ocean Villas has the very famous Ajili Mojili oceanfront restaurant. Also, many Golf Villas are nearby the resort golf clubhouse, which houses the Iguana Club, a very popular sports bar/restaurant, and the more formal Grill Room.

How would the villa keys be provided to me?

If you use our chauffeur to pick you up at the airport, he will have the villa keys for you. If you will be renting a car at the airport, one of our representatives will meet you at the car rental agency and provide you the keys. If you will be using none, our representatives will meet you outside baggage claim area. Flight arrivals after 7:00 p.m. must use our chauffeur.

In all events in addition to the keys you will be provided a package with local information, restaurants, activities, and important phone numbers.

What if I need assistance during my stay in Puerto Rico?

 Our offices are physically located in Puerto Rico, so we will personally make sure that you get the assistance you need.

Is this a child friendly resort?

The activities and programs available for the children are quite impressive. Children of all ages will find numerous activities available for them. In addition the Westin Kid’s Club is great way for your kids to have lots of fun and for you to get a well-deserved rest. Please note that there is a charge for using the Kid’s Club.

Is there baby sitting available?

Yes, you can either use the services of Westin Kid’s Club, by paying the price of the service, or we can arrange to send a babysitter to your villa. If your child has special needs, we have a person with formal training in special needs children.

Grocery store, drug store, video store? 

There is a small grocery store at a distance of 1 mile away from the Resort. At a distance of about 3 miles you will find a strip mall with a large and modern grocery store, a drug store and a video rental store. At a distance of 15 minute car drive from the villas you will find a Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens drug store, Blockbuster, etc.  

Roll away beds, cribs?

Roll away beds are available for rent at a cost of $25 per night, cribs are available at a cost of $20 for night.
